“My time at the University of Guelph was very special to me. It was one of the only universities that supported all sports including women’s hockey. I learned a lot about life and sport during my time there, and I am not surprised that once again U of G takes another leadership role with The Gryphon Athletic Capital Campaign. The monies raised will not only benefit the students but engage all of the community to get involved and get active.”

“Participating in Gryphon Athletics has been an invaluable experience. Varsity athletics have not only given me confidence on and off the court, but the poise and ability to perform. What I have practiced while playing sport translates directly to my academics. Playing basketball for the University of Guelph has helped me hone my teamwork and communication skills, and most importantly, it has taught me the value of hard work. I wouldn’t trade my experiences in Gryphon Athletics for anything!”

“The SHARKs Swim Program is a true community program. Initiated by the Guelph YMCA, with collaboration from the City of Guelph and the local Boards of Education, the program reaches over 2,300 children every spring. It wouldn’t be as successful as it is without the support of the University of Guelph and their staff.”

“For as long as I can remember I have been physically active through participating in various organized sports, whether it be baseball, fastball or basketball. Being part of the women’s basketball team has taught me lifelong lessons and has given me lifelong friendships. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for my time spent here, the relationships I have gained and being a Gryphon.”
